The CIO role has been around for a relatively short amount of time, and yet over recent years there have been a crop of new CxO roles within Enterprises to meet the ever-growing tech demands of a modern business. Knowing how to engage them and what approach to take is becoming more essential as part of a successful marketing strategy.
The primary focus for a CIO is to make sure the company's digital strategy aligns with the business strategy, to generate and continue commercial success. The CTO has to help to make that vision happen, so they do need a deeper understanding of how tech works, and how each product will work with the other tools being used by the business. And in the end in order for a CTO and a CIO to successfully serve their organisation, together they need to align the digital strategy with the business strategy, and make it work seamlessly for the customer.
