It looks as if the London Underground network has finally caught up with the 21st century. Exterion Media have agreed a partnership with Euronews to broadcast news bulletins across 15 stations throughout London in this test phase.
What does this mean for marketers?
With business audiences always being on the move, whether it's commuting or between meetings, these new HD screens offer new opportunities to promote brands, enhance engagement and add a touch of modernisation to the 155 year old transport network.
This is a chance to place your messaging alongside relevant business news, such as Cyber Security messaging during a WannaCry outbreak - aligning breaking news stories with relevant, in market branding and messaging.
So keep your eyes peeled for new digital screens to be on our underground network and think how this could be integrated into your campaigns to help enhance your brand and be established as a relevant solutions provider!
TV channel Euronews has struck a partnership with out-of-home advertising business Exterion Media to show bulletins on its 60 new HD screens across the tube network. Passengers in 15 stations – including Camden Town, Green Park and Oxford Circus – will see local and international news reports encompassing sports, technology, weather, business and lifestyle updates. Exterion and Transport for London are hoping the broadcasts will catch the eye of marketers too. They said that during an initial test phase, audience response will be assessed “to inform commercial opportunities for brands, such as content sponsorship and adverting alignment”.
